BuddyPress 2.8.0 – “San Matteo” version was just released

All you BuddyPress lovers have an extra reason to celebrate, a major BuddyPress release is now available for download from the WordPress.org plugin repository, or right from your WordPress Dashboard.

BuddyPress is continually evolving and this update consolidates the ground for BuddyPress REST API.

One other thing to consider before updating is the fact that now BuddyBress 2.8 requires at least PHP 5.3
